Meet The Spraygraphic Team

The Spraygraphic team is very passionate about Design, Politics and Fashion. Both owners strongly believe the t-shirt is one of the most effective and influential mediums to communicate their Art and Activism to others on a global scale. Spraygraphic Apparel was founded in Feb 2005 by Chuck b. and Matt Krise.

Chuck b. also known as Chuck Banaszewski, Ph.D. (Theatre) is a theatre artist/activist. He graduated from Arizona State University in Theatre in December of 2006. He specialized in Theatre for Political and Social Change, as well as Theatre for Youth with an emphasis in Theatre of the Oppressed (a style of Theatre for Social Change made popular by Brazilian artist/activist Augusto Boal). He has done all kinds of theatre work since he was young, but in the last ten years he has pretty much immersed himself in Theatre for Political/Social Change and Theatre for Youth. He was the founded the Arizona Surveillance Camera Players (Theatre performed in front of security/surveillance cameras), The Anti-Theatre Project (a non-text based theatre company that used movement, music, and spectacle to communicate to audiences), a member of the SOS Art Collective, he created human resources programs for large companies using Theatre techniques, he taught young people and old how to develop life skills and social skills using Theatre skills, and for the last five years he's been performing solo public"protest" performance around a myriad of issues, but mainly around the idea of where our understandings are are at.

Chuck b., "My goal is to try to get people to think more about art, pop culture, symbols, fashion, and materialism without telling people the "answer" or what it means. I wanted to provoke thought. At the same time, I have been able to look at all of those things mentioned and really appreciate the opportunity to do so. Its been a cool ride! The T-shirt is such a unique and popular canvas for art
today. I thought it was the most effective way to get people to think more about life in general. Sometimes it has been very successful and other times not so good...kind of like life.

Matt Krise

Matt Krise is a designer, photographer, environmentalist, surfer, and avid rock climber. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design from Arizona State University in 2003. His interests started out in furniture design. He remember the first time he ever saw the Barcelona Chair while traveling in Spain on a climbing trip. It was an easy decision for him after that to pursue a career in design. Out of college, he worked for Arizona State University's Architecture and Design program, as well as a prominent Industrial Design firm before founding Spraygraphic Apparel with Chuck b. He has climbed boulders and mountains all over world and continues to climb in his free time.
Spraygraphic has gone through many changes over the past several years and Matt's innovative ideas and designs have helped shape Spraygraphic.com into what it is today.

Matt Krise, "I love the daily challenges design brings to me everyday. Its like looking at a climbing problem and trying to figure out the most effective movements before you ascend, and then you actually do it. The final product is like standing on top of the rock and looking back down at where you started. Its pretty amazing..."
