Jan Krcmar 2010Useless forms of protest pt 2 - Steal from your employer
A while ago I posted images from a series entitled "My joke of a generation", in which I tried to illustrate the futility of most of our attempts at protest or rebellion. Here's the original series: http://www.spraygraphic.com/ViewProject/16991/normal.html My generation (early 30s) has it all. At least where I live (Central Europe). Wealth, jobs, a decent living standard. And we have accepted that, but the flame of youthful protest and the longing for revolution (probably just caused by too much energy from eating better food than in our student days) is still burning and we don't know what to do with it. I try to illustrate this argument within ourselves by thinking of useless or ridiculous forms of protest which allow us to maintain our current living standard while showing our contempt for the system which allows us to maintain this beloved living standard. This particular image does not look very special, but in fact its details reveal its subversive character. - photograph taken on iPhone provided by my employer (in this instance misused for private purposes) - image shows company owned macbook, which has been taken home and used for private entertainment - the film playing on company macbook has been illegally downloaded during office hours using the company's internet - the orange juice on the photograph has been bought for company money - the image was edited in an illegal copy of photoshop installed on the company macbook against the expressed wish of the MD... Truely Rock and Roll... PS: Just to be on the safe side: and now try to prove any of this.
