Me and Sister Jane MacDonald Knocked on people's heads for signatures to end the war in Iraq with a specific deadline from congress.
Jane Mac Donald on the right, helped me fill my quota of signatures at The Art of Peace exhibit. The Art of Peace: Gathering at the crossroads of peace, creativity and imagination. When I logged on to www.milliondoorsforpeace.org I found that I had no registered voter/neighbors here in the tiny town of Springbrook Wisconsin, no names came up! So I typed in my old zip code 55408 and drove 2 and half hours in conjunction with another errand, to Minneapolis to canvas. It is a very wealthy neighborhood and there were lots of "No soliciting" signs up on my addresses, also a lot of people were not home as it was a gorgeous fall day. I found one neighbor whom I had known for over twenty years, our children used to play together, excitedly I went up to him and asked him to sign. Imagine my horror when he said "I think I will pass on this"! It felt like a knife wound to my heart. I explained the situation in Iraq, the cost and the injuries and the death toll of the Iraqis and the troops and still he would not sign even though his son was standing by his side telling of a returning friend from Iraq who has PTSD! I decided to take my backup blank forms to The Art of Peace exhibit at The Loft in Minneapolis where I quickly scooped up my quota of signatories and had fun at the art show where I was a contributing exhibitor.
The Art of Peace Moon Memory, top left, Our Mind is a Garden, right and Corporaliens versus Earthlings bottom left.
My contribution to the art show, (we could not photograph other artist's work, otherwise I would love to show you the Iraqi art that was there.).

"Doorknocing" at the art of Peace
When so many doors were labelled No Solicitors, I went to The Art of Peace Exhibit at The Loft in Minneapolis. Here I found when I literally knocked on their heads I got many willing signatories!
Not many doors opened for me, so I knocked on people's heads and they signed up like crazy!
