I lay asleep in my bed with the time being 12.03 midnight. I heard a whisper in the corner of the room. I sit up in my bed and listen. I look long and hard but I still see no one standing there. He began singing in the dark, almost humming. Im not scared nor was I nervous. I felt my eyelids begin to get heavy as he ended his soothing tune.
He spoke:
Z or 2
Dave or Dan
End or And
Z at End
What I whispered back.
I felt his presence near me, getting closer and closer. My eyes are closed now as he gently sat beside me. He brushed my hair back over my shoulder. I opened my eyes and I saw him. Thick man with thick glasses. Greyish white hair he had with a tanned button shirt that smelled like cigars.
What could this mean? I asked.
It no longer matters anymore.. He answered.
I felt a pause in my throat. I didnt know what to say. I felt a sense of hurt for him, almost like he's been searching for a very long time and it turned out to be nothing. Almost like a dead end. Then a sudden calmness entered my body. Almost like relief. He smiled at me.
You found me in your sight.. I dont need to know anymore... Now sleep.
He lay me down and placed the covers over my chest. His hands were ice cold but his presence was warm. I close my eyes and relaxed my body. I was alseep but I knew that he stayed with me until I drifted off.
