- Violence Against Native American Women - WBB wants to raise awareness of violence against Native Women, whose experiences are so often ignored by mainstream culture, despite the fact that they represent a true and startling intersection of gender, race and class issues. Even in enlightened circles, and seemingly inclusive dialogues about gender violence, violence Native Women so often remains invisible. In an effort to raise much-needed funds for the only three (underfunded) women's shelters on the Navajo Reservation, WBB is selling Mother's Day postcards featuring original artwork by acclaimed local artist Joerael Elliott. We are working with ADABI Crisis Center (Chinle, AZ), Tohdenasshai Women’s Shelter (Kayenta, AZ), and White Mountain Safehouse (Pinetop, AZ).
