The first spread of my article. The title page. I wanted to convey the nightlife of gambling but from a unique perspective. Also, the notion of money is an important element. The blue/purple lines coming in from the left behind the hand and the white space are actually elements from another student's article because our magazine is designed to flow from one article to the next, incorporating each other's designs.

This is the second spread of my article, where the text begins. I wanted to portray the perception of hope and good that gamblers can have with poker machines as they hope to win big. This is demonstrated by giving the poker machine an angel wing. Yet, the snake is a symbol of evil in western culture, so I used that to represent that side of poker machines.

The pink strip highlights the act of playing poker machines. The image on the bottom right of my spread is actually an arm that extends into my page from another student's spread. Again, the notion of flowing from one spread to another is being used.
