Editorial illustration for an article about education that featured John Dewey's philosophy of education. I was trying to tie together Dewey's time period with both a current and futuristic feel. Representing where education is and where it is going.
I originally planned it as a double page opening spread but they nixed the extra page to save space. Below is what was used (with one more single page to round out the layout).
