About
Brienna McLaughlin Pruce is an international artist who uses animal symbols to convey empathy. She received her MFA in Painting at Savannah College of Art and Design and was awarded the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Sweet Briar College with a BFA in Studio Art and Creative Writing, and an Art History minor. She met her husband when they were both studying abroad at the University of Oxford. In 2007, Pruce was awarded a Professional Development Grant to attend an artist residency at Sustainable Arts Society. She was also awarded the Forsyth Fellowship in 2004 to attend an artist residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. She taught college art courses in Virginia and currently works as a freelance artist in Cambridge, UK.

| I live in England and travel the world with my husband, creating artwork that connects people to other people and places. I want to understand what it means to be human and alive through the stories and relationships of others. I use our animal counterparts as a symbol in order to look at situations in an objective context. We are all animals, but not all life is treated equally. I want us to appreciate other living beings and empathize with their struggles just as we would our own. Through unlikely relationships, humor, and sadness, I forge an opening for discussion.
