About
I'm a 19-year-old self trained photographer from Dallas, Texas. I've been really into taking photos ever since I was little, but never saw it as an art form until I came across photographer, Matthew Hall's website. After seeing his work, I began to try to make my photos look artistic as possible. I also tried my hand at as many types of photography as well. After joining art website, DeviantArt.com, I developed a real drive to become better than I was after being surrounded by photographers that were better than myself. With the help, advice, and critiques of fellow photographers on DA, I was able to develop my own style. In 2005, I was able to work at Adorevintage.com as the Senior photographer. Later I shot a 6 page fashion editorial which appeared in the March 2006 issue of (online) NEET Magazine. Now in May 2008, my photo "42 for the Testing" is being shown at the Beacon Street Gallery in Chicago, IL in the "Beginnings" show. I'm now attending Columbia College Chicago; Majoring in Film (with a concentration in Directing) and minoring in photography. Film was always something I wanted to do almost as long as I've been in photography.. but never had the means to do it. I decided to go with a concentration in directing because I have a love for telling stories and I want to be the one telling it.. not just the person on the side that give their input (hence why I'm not going into cinematography.. although w/ my photography background, it would be the logical thing to do). I also need to be able to have my hand in nearly every aspect of the film or I wont be content. As a default, I feel the films I make in the future will be very stylized (like those of Wes Anderson). I guess I aim be be an auteur.
