My artwork deals with discovery, not only of myself but of my viewers as
well. It invokes emotion and tells a story. Call it narcissism but my work is all about me, in the hopes that the aspects of my life will give some insight into yours.
I am 25, I am a man, a predator, a native Arizonan, I am Italian, a poet, a
photographer, a hopeless romantic, deeply rooted in tradition and family, but
overall I am an artist and those aspects, along with my camera are my tools.
My artwork started being about what makes me, me. My largest body of
work deals with my family, the interactions between us, and the unique aspects
of an Italian household. However, as it’s developed over the years, I’ve seen
similarities in mine and other cultures. So it’s become less about me and more
about culture, family, and religion.
My most recent body of work deals with Scottsdale’s native plant ordinance, where, since its inception in 1980, has salvaged over 250,000 indigenous plants. This project too, is about me. I feel a strong connection with
the desert landscape that I have enjoyed my entire life. In a way, I am the native plant.
I hope that through looking closely at my life, my viewer will begin to see
these similarities between us and, in turn, discover something about
themselves. It’s for this reason that I take a third person look at the world and the marks made upon it.
