J.T. Sikorski, Creative Digital Artist, Cave Creek, Arizona
The 50’s are considered to be the Golden Years that defined the American
experience... I was born in late May of 1953, in Cleveland, Ohio, and that
bustling industrial setting decisively shaped my future. Daily city bus rides across
town over a high-level bridge that spanned the Cuyahoga River Valley
allowed my to view the steel and aluminum giants below. The visions of the
smoke stacks belching every color of the rainbow and the huge flames shooting
high in the sky shaped my early school years imagination and particularly the
mornings’ when the enveloping fog gave it a scary surrealism.
My passion for creating evocative images was greatly influenced by the
artists that produced the controversial cover art for the dime “rag” novels of the
30’s and 40’s. Action scenes in vivid colors competed for the attention of the
prospective buyer. As a Self-taught digital photographer, I am unconstrained by
rules or conventions that can limit creativity. My creativity is only limited by my
imagination and I freely experiment with all aspects of my art with spontaneity
and am continually evolving. I pride myself in creating my images “in-camera”
without the need to layer multiple images into one, thusly my lighting and
shadowing blend seamlessly to create appealing surreal images. Of course I
have my secret techniques that set my work apart from others and I bend my
technology to suit my needs and am not ruled by it.
Macro photography of famous and, very often, extinct aircraft and vehicles
is possible with quality models of which I am most grateful to have available to
me to create my art.
“Art that reawakens and inspires the emotions and memories
of the beholder”.
