Sara Lugo's artistic background includes work across various disciplines, from drawing and graphic design to metalsmithing and the textile arts. Durng her college years she started Explosive Kiwi, a line of women's accessories and handbags, which she still runs today. While living in Florence in the spring of 2006, her work appeared in shows at the Zucchero Gallery and Studio Fuji. She graduated with a degree in Studio Art in 2007 from Providence College. Soon after, Sara moved to New York City to begin work in advertising as an Art Director. After working on brands like GARDASIL, she won an Rx Club "Award of Excellence" for a print piece that appeared in such nationwide magazines as Cosmopolitan, Elle, and Fitness. Her current work focuses on the Mercedes-Benz brand. Sara recently reconnected with silk painting in order to balance out her work life and satisfy her need to create.
